Privacy Statement

This Privacy Policy identifies and describes the way we use and protect the information we collect about Customers and Users. All use of GEOS Response and other GEOS branded products and services, including the International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) as well as visits to related websites, are subject to this Privacy Policy.

The Information We Collect, How We Collect It, And How We Use It

We may collect different types of personal and other information based on your use of our products and services and our business relationship with you. Some examples include:
  • Contact Information that allows us to communicate with you -- including your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address;
  • Device Specific Informationthat that is required to utilize the Global Safety Application, or other partner applications and/or devices, such as:
    • A unique identifier (this can sometimes be your device’s IMEI number, but only if this has been explicitly provided by you or your system administrator, we do not collect it electronically);
    • Device Phone Number (This can be from a supported smartphone, or devices that you or your administrator register that support voice calls, such as Satellite Phones, or other dedicated devices;
    • Bluetooth ID (This only applies to Bluetooth accessible devices or accessories);
    • Location Information provided by your device’s location service, including position accuracy if supported;
    • Device Battery Level;
    • The version of the application you are running, or if using a supported device from a partner the version of the software or firmware;
  • Emergency Contact Information for your emergency contact such as your nearest relative etc;
  • Billing information for the individual, organization or company related to your financial relationship with us -- including your payment data, credit history, credit card numbers, security codes, and service history;
  • Equipment, Performance, and other Technical Information about your use of our network, services, products or websites.
We collect information in the following ways:
  • You give it to us when you purchase a product or service, register users, or otherwise interact with us about a product or service we offer or provide;
  • We collect it automatically when you visit our websites or use our products and services:
  • We may employ cookies to help us recognize your browser as a previous visitor and save and remember any preferences that may have been set while your browser was visiting the Site. For example, we may save your login information so you don't have to sign in every time you visit the site;
  • When you access the GEOS Global Safety Fusion Center web site, or any of our other tools and solutions.
We may use the information we collect in a variety of ways, including to:
  • Provide you with the best customer experience possible;
  • Provide the services you purchase;
  • Communicate with you regarding the service you purchased;
  • Address network integrity and security issues;
  • Provide local directory and directory assistance;
  • Provide assistance during any defined incidents;
  • Carry out business functions such as accounting, billing and audit, security, administrative and legal, statistical and marketing analysis, systems testing, maintenance and development, customer surveys, customer relations and to help us in any future dealings with you, for example by identifying your requirements and preferences;
  • Communicate with you for administrative or operational reasons relating, for example, to advise you of alterations to our services;
  • Administer, support, improve and develop our business;
The information that you provide to us will be held securely in our systems, which are located on our premises or those of an appointed third party. We may also allow access to your information by other third parties who act for us for the purposes set out in this policy or for other purposes approved by you.

Sharing With Garmin Affiliated Companies
Within the Garmin group of companies and in particular the International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC), we may share your Personal Information with to make sure your experience is as seamless as possible, and you have the full benefit of the services we offer.

Sharing With 3rd Party Organizations
We share your Personal Information only with 3rd party companies that perform services on our behalf, and only as necessary for them to perform those services.
  • We require those 3rd party companies to protect any Personal Information they may receive in a manner consistent with this policy.
  • We do not provide Personal Information to 3rd party companies for the marketing of their own products and services without your consent.
Sharing With First Responders and other Support Organizations
We may provide Personal Information to official first response agencies, authorized incident command and response personnel, or other third parties for purposes such as:
  • Responding to 911 calls and other emergencies;
  • First Response Agencies
  • Medical Facilities
  • Rescue Coordination Centers
  • Complying with court orders and other legal process
  • To assist with identity and location verification
    Anonymous and Aggregate Information
  • We collect some information on an anonymous basis. We also may anonymize the personal information we collect about you.
  • We obtain aggregate data by combining anonymous data that meet certain criteria into groups.
  • We may share aggregate or anonymous information in various formats with trusted 3rd party entities, and may work with those entities to do research and provide products and services.
  • We use tracking software to monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of our applications and online services to better meet the needs of customers. This software does not enable us to capture any personally identifying information.
Our Online Privacy Policy for Children
  • Our websites products and services are not designed to attract children under the age of 13 or obtain any kind of personal information on them.
  • We do not knowingly collect personally identifying information from anyone under the age of 13 unless we first obtain permission from that child's parent or legal guardian.
Safeguarding Your Information: Our Policy on Data Protection and Security
  • We do not sell your Personal Information to anyone for any purpose.
  • We maintain information about you in our business records while you are a customer, or until it is no longer needed for business, tax, or legal purposes.
  • We have implemented encryption or other appropriate security controls to protect Personal Information when stored or transmitted by our systems.
  • We require 3rd party companies acting on our behalf to protect any Personal Information they may receive in a manner consistent with this Policy. We do not allow them to use such information for any other purpose.
Customer Privacy Controls and Choices
  • We like to receive feedback from our customers to help us improve our service. We may contact you by e-mail or telephone to ask your opinion.
  • We may also send periodic emails related to company news, new products or other information. Should you wish to no longer receive these you can opt-out by selecting unsubscribe at any time.
  • In using our services, you consent to the collection and legal use of this information by us in the ways described above.
  • If you have any further questions about our Privacy Policy or its implementation, please contact us. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and in what circumstances we disclose it.
Your Rights
  • If you reside in the European Union, you have the right under the General Data Protection Regulation to request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data, data portability, restriction of processing of your personal data, the right to object to processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you reside outside of the European Union, you may have similar rights under your local laws.
